Large Numbers Of Members Turnout For Special Event Meeting Hosted by Twin Palms Restaurant and Chamber Members San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Meeting

Pasadena - The food was great, the ambiance unbeatable and the networking was "out of this world", special thanks to Twin Palms and their new partner, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, for welcoming the Chamber to our first ever meeting at the restaurant.

Approximately 80 members attended this meeting to celebrate this new venture for one of our tribal Chamber members and hear from the Tribe and Twin Palms on a partnership between themselves and with the Chamber. San Manuel Tribal Leader Lynn Valbuena (at left with San Manuel's Scott Lane and Twin Palms CEO Victor Ciulla) also spoke on the tribe’s other Economic Development efforts and the pending Gaming Compact negotiations with the state of California. The Chamber will be holding more meetings here and looks forward to supporting this American Indian enterprise!

California Chamber Assists in Forming The American Indian National Chamber of Commerce

The American Indian Chambers of Commerce from California, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, and the Rocky Mountain states are proud to announce our founding of the American Indian National Chamber of Commerce (American Indian National Chamber). The American Indian National Chamber was formed to address the ever-growing needs of both American Indian individually-owned businesses and Tribal Enterprises by:

  • Sustaining the rights of tribal sovereignty in regards to American Indian business regulatory and certification issues
  • Addressing the needs of the Indian business person
  • Increasing the recognition of American Indian businesses
  • Providing a vehicle for networking among American Indians
  • Providing access to resources for American Indian business people
  • Establishing a national conduit for American Indian businesses with Corporate America and Government entities
  • Becoming a national gathering point and providing a "connection" for the dissemination of vital statistics regarding American Indian businesses
  • Providing increased business opportunities for American Indian businesses and Tribal Enterprises
  • Lobbying on behalf of American Indian businesses

All of our state Chambers have been actively working towards the fulfillment of a national Chamber of Commerce organization run by consensus and look forward to a sustained collaborative effort. The American Indian National Chamber represents a grass-roots empowerment of the American Indian entrepreneurial spirit. Our organization provides a "true voice" of the American Indian business owner. We are American Indian business people speaking for ourselves and working for American Indian economic self-sufficiency through business ownership. California is proud to be a part of this exciting new endeavor to benefit our American Indian business people.

Special Note Of Thanks To Two Of Our Corporate Supporters

Thanks to The Boeing Company and to Southern California Edison for their support of the postage costs for the Chamber’s March and April newsletters.
